Ah Fuck

I'm afraid I lost a podcast episode
I’m an idiot. I’ve lost an episode of Geek News Radio. And by “lost”, I mean I have deleted the recording file and can’t get it back. I’ve tried to recover the file all morning, but by nature of the stupidity that was involved, I’m afraid it’s unrecoverable. Dave, Mike and me had recorded what was to be GNR 59 on the same evening as episode 58. We were going to release it tomorrow, on 1 April, calling it “Greek News Radio”.

Forstamt Merchandising

You heard right
I’ve designed a new logo for the Forstamt Pochinki. It’s based on the great design Niklas came up with. I just cleaned it up and made a vector version. And just for the hell of it, I also made some shirts. I’ve had a Spreadshirt store for Sixgun Productions for a while but wasn’t doing anything with it, so I thought I might as well use that. Some might say I’m taking this little inside joke way too far, but fuck ‘em.

We got a PUBG 3-Man Squad win
Niklas, Martin and myself just scored a 3-Man Squad win in PUBG for Forstamt Pochinki. And on Miramar no less! I think it’s safe to say that the Forstamt does not only keep the woods on Erangel safe but is also very successful in patrolling the desert. +++ ATTENTION PEOPLE +++ Forstamt troopers @fabsh, @martin_fischer and @NiklasMM have successfully acquired poultry supper. Free beer for everyone! #PUBG pic.twitter.com/5ZJO2cvXE0 — Forstamt Pochinki (@PochinkiForst) March 27, 2018

Black Library Submission

My BL story pitch was declined
At the end of January, I had pitched a story to Black Library as part of their anniversary submission window after the guys had talked my into doing it on a Geek News Radio episode. Elevator pitch: Columbo meets the Space Marines. Today I got back an email saying that they have declined my pitch and can’t provide feedback due to the high volume of submissions which reach them. I had suspected something like that would happen.

There's a new PUBG team in town
Today, Niklas and myself were playing some PUBG duo games and in the process we came up with a new team: the Forstamt Pochinki. We basically pretended to be some Beamte from the German forestry office (Forstamt), reacting in a very German way towards some rowdies disturbing the forests and meadows on the classic PUBG map. And by very German reaction, we mean getting airdropped from a Hercules in full millitary gear and handing out 5.

Episode 58 of Geek News Radio is out
For episode 58 of Geek News Radio we got Mike on board again and he brought up the topic of Cambridge Analytica for Dave and me to discuss. We had a really good exchange on that topic and also on the recent Uber accident. It was quite a news heavy show, uncharacteristically so for Geek News Radio. We also have some Dinner For One talk and a Vier Feldherren update. The show’s just been released, go have a listen!

Vier Feldherren, Season Two

The second round of the GNR Warhammer challenge has begun
On GNR 57 Dave, Mike and me decided that we would do a second round of our Warhammer 40,000 painting challenge Vier Feldherren. After Dave won the first one by a huge margin, I won the turtle race by finishing a single cultist. I now sit on that one finished cultist plus an almost finished second one as well as two Chaos Space Marine Chosen from my Word Bearers in various stages of completion.

I've been slacking lately, but here's a podcast
It’s been ages since Dave, Mike and me did episode 57 of Geek News Radio (we recorded on 27 February, to be precise) and I’ve finally gotten around to release it. Sorry for the delay, I’ve been massively busy at work lately. In this episode, we talk about Divinity: Original Sin II, Warhammer 40K and personal planners. We also used a VoIP service called Studio Link to record the show – it should noticeably improve our audio quality.
