I've been working on this story for three months
Last Thursday, I published an investigative report I have been working on for about three months. Between Christmas and New Years, a security researcher by the name of Christopher Dreher contacted the heise online editorial offices with an unbelievable story: He had bought a GPS tracking smartwatch and had found horrendous security vulnerabilities. The devices are marketed for people to track their kids, spouses and grandparents – in itself that concept is horrible enough to me.

My BL story pitch was declined
At the end of January, I had pitched a story to Black Library as part of their anniversary submission window after the guys had talked my into doing it on a Geek News Radio episode. Elevator pitch: Columbo meets the Space Marines. Today I got back an email saying that they have declined my pitch and can’t provide feedback due to the high volume of submissions which reach them. I had suspected something like that would happen.
